ECS Nominated for Two Global Energy Awards
Buffalo, New York, October 3
Platts announced on Friday, September 28, 2007 that Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc. (“ECS”), one of the leading demand response service providers in the country, has been selected as a finalist for two separate award categories - the Industry Leadership Award and the Rising Star Award.
The Industry Leadership Award and the Rising Star Award are two of the sixteen categories recognized in Platts's annual Global Energy Awards. The Industry Leadership Award recognizes companies that have spearheaded a revolution in technology and industrial processes, and have led changes that are so clearly right that other companies are compelled to follow in its footsteps. The Rising Star Award looks at companies that have used their skills to establish themselves as equal-to or even more successful than existing players in their field.

Up until recent times, demand response resources were not considered as a traditional supply resource. Thanks to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, demand response is now treated equal to a supply side resource and is viewed as reliable capacity that can be called upon to reduce load and assist in stabilizing power grids.
